About Us
Tristan’s Gallery was founded in 2000 in Wadebridge, Cornwall.
Cornwall is famed for it’s beautiful luminous light quality, which has attracted many artists over the past century including Man Ray, Lee Miller and the sculptor Barbara Hepworth. Cornwall remains a thriving hub for creatives; attracted by the stunning swathes of rocky coast, spotless sandy beaches and windswept moors.
From this beginning, Tristan’s Gallery soon grew into one of the UK’s leading photographic galleries. Initially the gallery exclusively showcased work by the founder Edward Davis. After a short time, struggling to meet popular demand, a chance meeting with David Montgomery led to the first exhibition of the widely renowned artist and a sell out show. This was swiftly followed by exhibitions of work by Terry O’Neill, Frank Horvat, Lewis Morley, Martin Parr, Bernard Faucon and Man Ray.
All prints are carefully curated by Edward, who has extensive experience and understanding of the photographic world, as well as an excellent eye for fine work and printing standards.
The founder Edward Davis was born in London, and started his photography career at an early age while at school. There he became the school photographer, covering all school trips and the slide-show for parents day. With his passion for photography, Edward went on to Richmond Art School followed by Plymouth School of Art. He has now worked in the photographic trade for over 50 years, with a prestigious client base across the globe.
Edward has also previously staged a exhibition in aid of Save the Children, his portrait photography focusing on children in the Middle East. His work invited the viewer to examine the ways in which children from different religions are still united by the similarity and simplicity of their play. All prints were taken and printed by Edward, and donations taken to raise money for Save the Children.
Today Tristan’s Gallery offers an extensive range of photographic prints, all available to purchase online. All works are original, signed limited edition prints.
