Ivan Maria Friedman
Ivan Maria Friedman is a photographer, filmmaker and classical musician from Lausanne, Switzerland, active mainly between Europe and Asia. He graduated in classical music from the Lausanne University of Music. Early in his career, he expanded his creative approach to photography and film production, interested in how these different forms of artistic expression can mutually enrich one another.
Since a young age, he has been deeply drawn to the mystery of existence. Questions about the nature of life, of consciousness, and of what lies beneath the surface of things have shaped his way of seeing the world — a perspective that runs through both his visual and musical work.
He is known for his expressive imagery in both photography and cinematography, and for creating several experimental short films — including Guardians of Paradise about Myanmar — which have won numerous international awards on five continents.
