Lee Miller
It would be very difficult to cram more living into ones life, than
the extraordinary life of Lee Miller. Miller was born in 1907 in Poughkeepsie,
New York USA and first entered the world of photography as a model to
the great New York Photographers of the time such as Edward Steichen,
Hoyningen-Huene and Arnold Genthe. Later moving to Paris, working with
and becoming companion to the well known surrealist and photographer Man
Ray. Miller succeeded in establishing her own studio, also working as
staff photographer for Vogue magazine. She is recognized for her diverse
range of photography including fashion, portraiture and War correspondence,
but her most enduring body of work is that of her surrealist images.
We are able to access most of Millers images.
